Breaking Out

Breaking Out

The sky is dark.
The rain is coming down,
And the cars are all lined up
on the expressway.
Everybody’s getting
outta town.
And the rain
It keeps fallin’ on my window,
keeps fallin’ on my window .
It just keeps fallin’ down.
They’re working on
the city day by day
and the money’s
all tucked away
behind the grid wire fences,
The cash is all locked down.
It’s all locked down.
Not much to say.
And the rain it just keeps
fallin’ on my window,
Keeps fallin’ on my window.
it keeps fallin’ down.
And the city’s shining
slick
and smooth.
The brokers are all
turning their tricks.
The movers and the shakers,
got their schtick ,
They got their groove and their move,
and their deals
all down pat.
And the rain just keeps
fallin’ down on my window
Just keeps fallin’ on my window.
It keeps fallin’ down.
One day I’ll be breaking out’ ta Babylon
and I’ll be free
without a doubt .
It’s just a question
of the time , my song,
and will,
I’m sure
I’ve got all three.
Meanwhile the rain,
it just keeps fallin’
on my window
keeps fallin’ on my
window
It just keeps fallin’ down.
And It will keep fallin’ till
I’m gone.
It’s getting dark
In Babylon.
