The Law
The shape of things
to come ,
On the boulevards ,
the shape of spring .
Sitting on rotund
Lilac divans
Reclining
laws are made
and In all
these new beginnings
the old ones fade .
plexi steel
stiletto heel
Silver leather
Herald the new
and latest weather
A crop of percussive songs ,
electronic tweet
Heat
sweet canaries
of the past repeat
themselves
Songs
How
Long
will it last
The axe is falling
Reapers calling .
The ding dong
of the door sounds
Then the
calls are made
to the elegance
of ladies
and to all the
ineptitudes of men .
Give me the law
Baby ..I need it.
Need it in the now .
Need it over again .

Come
I come alone
to the quiet garden
to abide
because
it is
alone that
spirits
rise .
You hide your face
from profligate
sons and daughters ,
but don’t withhold
your love
from those
who practice politics
of affection
or division,
and even more so ,
from those
who do not.
Let the
echoes
of your song
be in the streets
ringing
for those
who are
far away
from home .

Face Artists
Face artists
in a row
painting
what is
beautiful
and given
each in an
individual way.
Been Living Down
Been
Living
Down
Town
Not a kingdom
Not a kind word
Not a crown .
What a marvel ,
your subterranean ways
and all your wandering
twisted paths .
Linguist Croon
Tongue and groove
on the move .
The poetry of
linguistic action
gives a satisfaction
that glides
beyond the recognition
of any verbal mission
or statement of the stars
or any of the
opposing movements ,
whether Venus or Mars ,
a beating heart ,
a linguistic start
that makes the art
so lasting
and ultimately ours ,
in time .
Track sliding

Spadina Station
announced without a tongue
Sliding long the tracks
tunnel bound
Covered sleeping toes
and all
to Bloor & Yonge .
Flip flop
robin egg blue nails
Red Bow tie on
silk stripe shirt
Disembarking
Red jeans
Red kimono with
broad golden belt
to co-op red and yellow cab.
Joy Stepping
Lavender toenail
winged victory
on calf
Joy stepping on
street sunshine
at Bloor Street west .
Toe Nail Poetry #1
Noon Strut
Walk for
blueberries
and almond milk
Turquoise toenails
extended
Turquoise neck
pigeon back
Grey strut
With purple metal
shining in the sun
against charcoal
shadowed
branching buds.
Sitting Home Alone .
I should make
efforts to make
this poem known
Instead of sitting
home alone .
Not that it’s
some standard
of established good
or bad ,
It’s just so very sad
that
It sits here on it’s own
waiting
to be received,
reflected on,
perceived,
perhaps
to mirror someone else’s
thoughts,
life condition,
woes,
or
Someone else’s throws
of passion or regrets .
This poem needs
company,
and a reference point ,
just like everybody else.
